CHITWAN, Feb 3: A jewellery shop based at Milan Road in Bharatpur Municipality was robbed Thursday night.
The burglars broke into Adhunik Sunachandi Shop belonging to Bikash Barma and decamped with 4 kilograms of gold, 4.5 kilograms of silver along with Rs 700,000 in cash last night, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.

The thieves also took away the surveillance camera installed in the shop.
According to police, the burglars barged into the shop by smashing the padlock of the shutters.
They closed the shutters of the shop using a new padlock before they left. Of the two lockers inside the shop, small one is broken down while the big one is still intact, said SP Dipak Thapa.
The thieves could not be identified as they took away a CC footage. Police have started to carry out investigation with the help of CC cameras installed on the road and vowed to nab the burglars within a week.
