Earlier, the political parties had returned the amount through Rishi Ram Basnyat, the coordinator of the sub-committee formed to lead a delegation to the Forest Ministry on the issue.
However, the case is under the scanner of the Commission for Investigation of the Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the District Administration Office (DAO).

It is alleged that Bishnu Rizal of UCPN-Maoist took Rs 110,000, Gorakhnath Kasaudhan (MPRF)Rs 110,000, Dharmaraj Adhikari of UML Rs 75,000, Numananda Subedi of NC Rs 100,000, and Lalmani Sharma and Ali Mohammad Miya of Rastriya Janamorcha Rs 100,000 each.
It is also said that an official of Forest Ministry and another from Forest Department were given Rs 75,000 bribe for the deal.
