BOSTON, Jan 15: A 63-year-old parolee is facing murder and robbery charges in the slaying of a Boston convenience store clerk killed the day after Christmas.

Thirty-nine-year-old Surendra Dangol had a wife and 9-year-old daughter in his native Nepal. They joined about 200 people for his funeral services in Cambridge on Jan 4. [break]

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley said Edward Corliss of Roslindale was named in a warrant Thursday. He is to be arraigned Tuesday.

Corliss´ parole officer noticed he resembled a man on surveillance video of the robbery and drove a car like one seen then. He was returned to prison Jan. 7.

The Boston Globe cites court records that Corliss was paroled in 2006 from a life sentence for the 1971 killing of a store clerk in another community.
