Indian intelligence behind attack: Yunus's dad

KATHMANDU, March 14: Salim Miya Ansari, former minister and father of the chairman of National Television Yunus Ansari, said the attack on his son was an attack on nationality and was motivated by the ill-intention of threatening the nationalists.



At a press meet organized in the Capital on Monday, Ansari claimed that Indian intelligence agents made the murder attempt after they were exposed and felt threatened with the contribution of a television run by a Muslim, a minority community in Nepal.[break]



He expressed concern over the news published in different media about his son Yunus, terming these baseless, saying his son was falsely implicated with a criminal group.



Moreover, he urged all concerned to extend help to save his imprisoned son as the latter was still facing risk to his life.



Ansari further said his son was protected due to the cleverness of an inmate, Bir bahadur Tamang.



A murder attempt was made against Yunus Ansari in the central jail on March 11.
