Indian envoy calls on CA Chairman

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Jayanta Prasad called on Constituent Assembly Chairman Subhas Nembang on Wednesday.



Meeting between the duo is still underway at the chairman´s office in Singha Durbar.[break]



Prasad is set to discuss the contemporary political issues with Nembang.



Earlier, Prasad held a meeting with UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter´s residence in Nayabazar today morning.



It has been learnt that the duo discussed the ongoing peace process and constitution drafting process.



Prasad has also expressed the need to further strengthen the relations between Nepal and India and most importantly India´s relations with the Maoist.



In response Dahal assured Prasad that the Maoists are not anti India and reaffirmed work on improving the India-Maoist relations.



Prasad who landed in Nepal last week has already met with Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal at their respective residences.
