KATHMANDU, March 17: After a five year hiatus The Uglyz is back with their second album “In Transit”. The highly anticipated album lands them squarely in the local music scene, and fans couldn’t be happier.

A labor of six months, the album consists of eight spanking new tracks, which the band co-wrote, composed and produced. [break]

The band currently consists of Sarun Tamrakar on vocals and guitar, Sudeep Tamrakar on the lead guitar and Rakin Lal Shrestha on Drums and vocals.

The album launch took place at Tamas, Thamel on March 15, amidst friends and family.

Also present was Miss Nepal 2004 Payal Shakya Tamrakar, who shared that the album was a perfect blend of love, tragedy and reflects all kinds of emotions.

“The fruition of this album sure did take long but it’s well worth the wait. It has come out really good. I’ve been listening to it every day and as an audience, I love it,” shared Payal.

Music video for “Ajhai” was also screened at the launch, which concluded with a performance by The Uglyz.

They churned out some of their older hits which had the audience going nostalgic.

Although the songs have a feel-good quality to them, it remains to be seen whether the band can recapture their imperious status five years ago, when they broke into the music scene with their debut album “Rush”. Only time will tell.
