A versatile actor and a poet Murad Ali had his audience mesmerized with his impeccable performance on stage. [break]
Complementing Ali, on the backdrop was the soothing music of Pianist Upendra Lal Singh.
The program, “Poet of the Fall” was organized jointly by Mu’az entertainment and 1905 in Kantipath.
The first part of the program had Ali on stage reciting English and Sufi poems.
For those who admired Robert De Niro in the movie, “Taxi Driver” enjoyed Ali’s performance as he presented the bold and eminent scenes from the same movie flawlessly.

Talking about bringing in Ali for the performance Bijay Shrestha, Director of Mu’az entertainment and one of the organizers of the event commented, “It is the first time that we had Murad Ali and Upendra Lal Singh perform together with the fusion of poetry and music.
We wanted to do an event to promote art and artists and present it in a whole new way to the Nepali audience which is why we came with this idea.
” Moreover he said that Ali is a trained Bollywood actor with a good voice. So he approached Arun Baral, a theatre artist with the idea of organizing the event. Baral directed the entire event on Friday.
“Ali sounds great when he recites and he has the passion about the whole thing,” added Shrestha. Ali also enacted the scenes from the movie, “The Departed” where he interpreted the bold scenes in his own way with also borrowed compositions from well acclaimed poets.
His performance was synchronized with Western as well as Indian melodies on the background that made his delivery more in-depth.
Ali passionately delivered the bold scenes from the movies and also recited the poems aesthetically.
One of the poems that he recited was by poet Majaj, which Ali said was a revolutionary poem about the soldiers.
The second part of the program had Upendra and Friends perform on stage, who performed tracks like, “Himalaya”. With the powerful, rebellious and contemporary performance of Ali and the band’s mellow music, the evening had a beautiful flow of drama and poetry put together with music.
