Bijay Narayan Manandhar, the Humla chief district officer, said, “The curfew has been lifted from 6 am to 6 pm today after the wrangling parties agreed to not take any violent course.” [break]
The CDO, however, added: “There will be curfew enforced again from 6 pm to 6 am Tuesday. It will be gradually lifted considering improvement in the security situation.”
The Humla District Administration Office had clamped indefinite curfew after locals of Thehe VDC and Simkot VDC clashed over appointing the management committee at Mansarobar Higher Secondary School in Simkot.
As many as 11 police personnel were injured when police intervened in the clash. Nearly a dozen cadres of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML were arrested in the scuffle.
