House pass condolence proposal

KATHMANDU, March 7: The parliament on Monday unanimously approved a proposal of condolence on demise of former prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai.



A meeting of the legislative parliament on Monday afternoon passed the condolence proposal.



Bhattarai passed away on Friday night.



The condolence addresses Bhattarai as the leading leader of the people´s movement in 2007, the first Speaker of the first people´s elected House of Representatives, man of simple life and idealist, leader dedicated to nationality, socialism and democracy as well as the former Prime Minister of high moral character.



"In the hour of grief, the Parliament expresses deep sorrow over his demise and wishes for eternal peace of the departed soul and condolence to the grieving family," it adds.



The next meeting of the Parliament is scheduled for March 9.
