Hot Rum Punch can be readied in a matter of minutes, and the ingredients required for it are very basic – the things you’ll easily find lying around your kitchen. Even then, Sandesh Chaudhary, Bartender/Manager at Le Trio, shares his recipe and tells you how to mix the magic.[break]
Ingredients
• Spicy Khukuri Rum – 60ml
• Water – 180ml
• 1½ lemon
• ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
• 2 teaspoons honey
Methodology
• Pour 60ml of rum in a tall glass
• Squeeze lemon juice
• Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder
• Pour in two teaspoons of honey
• Top the glass with hot, steaming water
• Give the mixture a quick stir
• Serve with a slice of lemon on the rim of the glass
For a house warm-up party, prepare a large decanter of Hot Rum Punch with the same ingredients in required proportions, as per the guest list. Expert advice from connoisseurs is that the lemon and orange peels and rinds should also remain in the jar for that extra marinating tang while sipping. Keep the power jug warm.
