Under girls´ category, Valley Public ´A´ registered a comfortable 28-7 victory over Daffodil. Parina Waiba and Rojee Karki scored ten points each for the winning side. Likewise, Prithvi eased past Clinton Public 24-10 riding on five points earned by Gita Khadka to set up the title clash with the hosts.
Under boys´ category, hosts Valley Public ´A´ saw off defending champions Gyan Niketan 41-29. Biraj Rana and Sagar Sharma contributed 15 points each for the winning side. In another semifinal, Kathmandu Xavier had a hard fought victory of 66-60 over Greenland. Ashmin Shrestha top scored with 35 points for the winner.
New Zenith, NIMS set up title clash
KATHMANDU, Nov 13: New Zenith and NIMS set up the title clash under boys´ category in the second Odyssey Inter-school Junior Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament on Friday.
New Zenith recorded a comfortable 52-36 win over NOBS. Dinkarjang Bhandari contributed 26 points for the winning side. NIMS had a narrow 40-36 victory over New Shine. Rajesh Shahi netted 18 points for NIMS.
Under girls´ category, NIMS and Kantipur secured final spot. With 14 points from Sangita Shrestha NIMS outfoxed Manjugoksha 27-11. Likewise, Kantipur edged past Teresa 33-28. Sunny Kayastha Neupane scored 14 points for the winning side.
The tournament is being held at the hosts´ court in Dhapasi.
