POKHARA, Jan 31: Host Sahara Club bowed out of the Seventh Aaha Gold Cup Football Tournament following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of visiting Belgariya Sporting Club, Kolkata at the Pokhara Stadium Saturday. [break]
Ezi scored the decisive goal from the spot in the 34th minute after Sahara´s Ichha Gurung handled the ball in the penalty box to put his side into the semifinals. The Indian side, making its debut in the tournament, will now play the winner of Monday´s quarterfinal match between Nepal Police Club and Nabil Three Star Club on Wednesday.
Kapan Das of Belgariya was adjudged the man-of-the-match in the game that once again ended the host team´s hopes of improving on its best performance of reaching semifinals.
Nepal Army, which had defeated New Road Team (NRT) 1-0, takes on APF Club, that had received a bye, in the second quarterfinal on Sunday.
