HLPCC to hold talks with Madhesh-centric parties

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: The High-Level Political Coordination Committee (HLPCC) has decided to be effortful to hold meaningful talks with the various Madhesh-centric political parties waging agitation in the Terai.

The meeting of the HPCC held Friday evening at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar, assigned its coordinator and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to hold result-oriented talks with Madheshi leaders protesting the new constitution stating that it did not reflect their interest.


Narayankaji Shrestha, one of the members of HLPCC, told that the Friday meeting of the Committee entrusted with the responsibility the Committee’s coordinator to do the needful to make the talks with dissenting Madheshi leaders a success.

“The meeting dwelt on how to make the talks a success,” shared Shrestha, adding that Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa and HLPCC Coordinator Dahal could expedite the talks in consultation with the Prime Minister as well the major opposition party Nepali Congress if need be. RSS
