MUSTANG, June 14: A historic suspension bridge in Jomsom which was damaged by earthquake has been repaired.

The bridge over the Kaligandaki River connects six VDCs in Mustang District as well as Dolpa, Manang and Tibet.

This ancient and historic bridge was damaged by the April 25 devastating earthquake. It has been repaired with Rs 50 thousand provided by the District Development Committee (DDC), Mustang and the local voluntary labour.

Although a new concrete bridge has been constructed over the Kaligandaki linking the district headquarters, Jomsom, to the National Highway, the locals however prefer to use the old bridge. RSS
