Karki would be accompanied by the National Investigation Department (NID) and the Armed Police Force (APF) staffers as reserve force.
According to the security plan, each spectator would be examined with metal detectors, sniffer dogs will search the stadium before the start of the match, there will be CCTV surveillance, and anyone entering the stadium and the parapet will have to go through walk-through gates.
"We have expected a huge and aggressive audience and have made necessary arrangements accordingly. Security personnel will intervene immediately to stop prohibited activities," AIG Thapa said. He said that Namibian players, coaches and foreign umpires would be provided security escorts in Kathmandu until they leave the country.
Citing the security lapses during the Nepal-USA match about seven years ago, the ICC had urged Nepal to make special security arrangements so that no unwanted activities take place during the match. Before that ICC had proposed holding the match in India. But after the government assured that it would make arrangement for a foolproof security, the council had agreed to hold the match in Nepal.
MPCO has also appealed to cricket fans to be civil and disciplined in and outside the stadium and make the international match a grand success as it will reflect on the nation's image. It has also warned the spectators not to take any banned items inside the stadium.
