Different companies provided special discounts at the expo due to which visitors were able to get health-related equipment, skincare products, health books and magazines, weight losing medicines and herbal products at reasonable prices, the organizers said.[break]
Besides, health clubs also provided special offer on their membership fees.
According to the organizers, the expo is the only social event organized by Direction Exhibition and Convention Center and has been able to meet its objective of increasing awareness on health issues and fostering positive attitude in people toward health care.
“Most of the health conscious visitors were present at the expo and they were mostly attracted toward herbal products, facilities provided by the fitness clubs, health camp, weight losing medicines and exercise equipment among others,” said Pashupati KC, director of Direction Nepal.
The expo had also incorporated some relevant side events like inter-club aerobic championship, free Zumba classes, Aqua Zumba classes, free yoga sessions, blood donation camp, AIDS awareness program, free dental checkup, etc. In the interclub aerobic championship, Next Step won the first prize.
The event featured around 60 stalls and visitors also had the opportunity to undergo aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and other therapies. Besides, Aqua Zumba -- a water-based exercise that helps cardio-conditioning and body toning -- introduced for the first time in Nepal during the expo was the major attraction for the visitors.
“Many people participated in the blood donation program and free Zumba and yoga classes, awareness program and health camp which made the event very successful,” said KC.
