Govt pledges security to investors

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The government has expressed its full commitment of protection to domestic and foreign investors flowing investment in hydropower development of the country.



Concluding the International Hydropower Development Meeting here today, Secretary at the Ministry of Emergy Biswo Prakash Pandit made the government´s commitment to secure the investment in reservoir projects as well as other electricity generation projects. [break]



The government is working on how the investors would get their money back and how their exchange rate risk can be addressed, he said.



The Secretary further said the government has expected to sign electric power trade agreement and construction of cross border transmission line with India.



ADB Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama said that the Bank is ready to provide continuous support to the development of hydropower in Nepal.
