Govt hikes fertilizer price

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The government on Thursday increased the price of subsidized chemical fertilizers by an average 30 percent with immediate effect.



According to Dr. Hari Dahal, spokesperson of the Ministry of Agriculture (MoAC), the prices of Urea, Di-amonium Phosphet (DAP) and Potash have gone up to Rs 18, Rs 32 and Rs 20 per kg respectively at border points in Biratnagar, Birgunj and Bhairahawa following the fresh review.[break]



The government had been selling Urea, DAP and Potash at Rs 12.5, Rs 27.26 and Rs 14.5 respectively through Agriculture Inputs Company.
