Gold, silver prices rise for third consecutive day

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Gold and silver prices have continued to rise in the local market for the third straight day.



According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), one tola of gold is priced at Rs 276,500, while silver is trading at Rs 5,340 per tola on Tuesday.

Last Sunday, hallmarked gold was traded at Rs 270,600 per tola. On Monday, it jumped Rs 4,100 to reach Rs 274,700. Similarly, silver rose from Rs 4,990 on Sunday to Rs 5,195 on Monday.


Traders attribute the surge to fluctuations in the US dollar and global economic uncertainty.


Internationally, one ounce of gold is trading at USD 4,588, while silver is priced at USD 84.
