Police have found the body of Bindu Kumari Thakur, 18, in a field some 100 meters away from the victim´s house. Preliminary investigation has shown that the girl might have been thrown in the field after being burnt to death elsewhere. [break]
Inspector at the District Police Office, Bara Ramnath Ghimire said while the upper part of Bindu Kumari´s body, including her face, was completely burnt, she had no clothes on to cover her lower parts.
"As nothing more was found except her charred body, we have been unable to crack the case," said Ghimire. He said the dead body has been sent to Kalaiya hospital for autopsy.
"After getting up and making necessary preparation for her tuition classes, she had left the house at around 5´o clock but we are not aware of what happened after she left the house," said Rinu Kumari, sister of the deceased.
Locals are not ready to tell anything about the incident. However, a local of Prastoka VDC said requesting anonymity that family members might have been involved in the murder.
The police have been interrogating Rama Thakur, father of the deceased. However, Rama said that his daughter had left home early in the morning carrying text books.
"As her face was severely burnt, I was unable to identify her initially. But when I reached the tuition centre and did not find her there I became sure that it was my daughter," he said.
Bindu Kumari Thakur was a tenth grader at Nepal Rastriya Secondary School of the VDC.
