KATHMANDU, April 15: Gandaki Province Assembly member Drona Kumar Kunwar has resigned from his post after failing to secure a ministerial position.
Kunwar, a member of the Nepali Congress, submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the Gandaki Province Assembly on Wednesday, stating that it would take effect from the same date.

In his resignation letter, he confirmed that he was stepping down from his position as a provincial assembly member elected from Baglung constituency 2 (2) in the 2079 general elections.
Kunwar was reportedly an aspirant for a ministerial post but resigned after being left out of the cabinet. He had been elected as a direct representative from the same constituency.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey reshuffled his cabinet on the same day, appointing eight new ministers from both the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
