India had stalled arms supplies to NA after then King Gyanendra usurped all executive powers overthrowing a democratic government in February 1, 2005.
According to online edition of Hindustan Times, India on its part has activated the process to resume supply of arms and weapons except Lancer counter-insurgency helicopters.
Minister Gachchhadar´s list submitted to Indian side include, mine protected vehicles, ammunitions for 81 mm mortar, 5.56 mm INSAS rifle and 7.62 mm rifles. Nepali side also conveyed that Kathmandu wants New Delhi to revive the government Ordnance Factory in Sundarijal, some 15 kilometers from the capital.
Though the Indian side has reportedly agreed to resume non-lethal arm supplies, New Delhi is yet to take a final call on the supply of armed Lancer Helicopters meant for counter insurgency as it does not want Indian platforms to be used against the Nepali people, said the online edition of Hindustan Times.
