The leaders said the meeting was positive as Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal showed flexibility to the demands of the opposition parties for resignation of the prime minister. [break]
"Dahal told us that his party gave higher priority to consensus than to the government or the prime minister," said Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bimalendra Nidhi.
Chairman of the Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party Mahantah Thakur also said the meeting was positive as the parties appeared more open to all options to resolve the political deadlock.
Emerging out of the meeting called by the NC, Dahal said that there was no alternative to consensus and urged all political parties rise over their differences.
However, NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel said the parties could not decided on the point from where the fresh negotiations could begin.
According to Nidhi some leaders had suggested that discussion should being on issues on which they had failed to forge consensus on May 27. The parties had differed over model of federal structure which eventually led to dissolution of CA. Since then, the political parties had remained polarized and engaged in blame game over the CA´s failure.
The leaders of the UCPN (M), NC, CPN (UML) and the United Democratic Madhesi Front decided to continue negotiations.
