A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Giri reached the village on Wednesday night.
According to neighbor Padma Bagale, they slept early on Tuesday night due to rainfall. “Next day, no people were seen in the house till the late morning,” she told police. “As the front door was padlocked from outside, we thought they went out.”
On Wednesday afternoon, the locals saw the bodies inside and broke in.
According to neighbor Parbati Poudel, Sandhya’s body was on the first floor while all other bodies were in a room of the ground floor.
“Investigation will reveal the motive behind the murder, but we suspect that the jewelry was looted,” DSP Giri said.
According to him, the murderer slashed the throat of all victims. Tulasa’s husband had already passed away.
