Former lawmaker Mahato manhandled

GAUSHALA, March 12: Former lawmaker Budhanidevi Mahato was manhandled in Gaushala Bazaar of Mahottari district on Monday night.



Mahendra Sah, who is a teashop owner, and his men thrashed Budhanidevi Mahato, a former lawmaker representing the Unified CPN (Maoist) from the district in the dissolved Constituent Assembly. [break]



She was reportedly manhandled after she hung around the shop for long and refused to vacate the seat despite the shopkeeper´s request to do so, according to Area Police Office, Gaushala.



Mahato was injured on her face and body. She is undergoing treatment at the local health post, now.



Police arrested Ramjeevan Sah, a staff at the shop, in connection with the incident whereas the tea shop owner is absconding, said Police Inspector Jaya Narayan Yadav.

Former lawmaker Mahato is from Laxminiya VDC of the district.
