According to Sailendra Shrestha, Coordinator of Users´ Right Protection Forum, lack of government policy and lack of effective monitoring and investigation are to blame for Food adulteration.[break]
Shrestha said though the businessmen involved in food adulteration were arrested and requested to take action against them but no action was not taken.
Nabin Deuja, Food Supervisor of the district, admitted that different reasons have aggravated problems. A process to take action against those businessmen has been started after collection food samples.
According to Kedar Malla, District Coordinator of Civil Society, the problem will not be solved till public will made aware.
The District Administration Office, Chitwan, had conducted a monitoring in market nine months ago. After that time the Office has not monitored the market.
The Office had collected samples of 85 food products at that time but action against the businessmen has not taken yet.
