Five killed in jeep accident

KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Five persons, including two Indian nationals, were killed and five others injured when a Bolero jeep (Na 1 Ja 2127) of Sagun Yatayat veered off the road at Talku Dudechaur VDC- 9, Kathmandu on Monday evening.



The vehicle carrying 10 persons, including the driver, was found some 150 feet down the steep terrain.



Those killed have been identified as driver Umesh Thapaliya (25) of Hetauda, Dhruba Kumar Shrestha (35), Ramesh Karki (40) of Kathmandu, and Shiva Darshan (65) and Buniyad Ali (45) of India, Pharping police said.



Shrestha, Karki and Ali died on the spot while driver Thapaliya died while receiving treatment at Manamohan Hospital, Farping. Darsan died while being rushed to Bir Hospital, Kathmandu. Other injured are receiving treatment at Bir Hospital, Kathmandu.
