Five inmates injured in Saptari prison clash

RAJBIRAJ, Sept 6: Five prisoners were critically injured after a clash broke out among the prisoners of Rajbiraj jail Wednesday night.



Umesh Yadav of Sakarpura-8, Ansarul Miya of Kalyanpur-2, Satya Narayan Mandal of Lohahara-4, Prashant Khanga of Pipra Purbah-6 and Dambar Sharma of Baladhuwa-1 were injured in the clash.[break]



All the injured have serious injuries on their heads.



According to Medical Superintendent Dr Tek Narayan Mandal, all the injured have been sent to Neuro Hospital, Biratnagar, for further treatment.



Injured prisoners said that the incident took place over the issue on running a shop and mess situated at the west block of the jail.



It is said that the incident took place after a plan was made to give another prisoner Jaya Prakash Yadav to run the shop in place of prisoner Ramananda Khawas.



There are 203 prisoners including five women in the jail where it has a capacity for 125 prisoners, according to jailer, Prakash Jha.
