KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Nepal Police has arrested a group of five persons involved in looting arms and ammunition possessed by security persons and subsequently selling them. The pistol and ammunition were looted from police personnel during the Gen Z protest.
Those arrested by the police are Krishna Gurung, 21, originally from Dhunibesi, Dhading; Rajan Deula, 25, from Bhagawanpau of Kathmandu-15; Akbar Khan, 24, originally from Motihari Sitamadhi of India; Shumin Shakya, 26, from Kathmandu-15; Prabhat Malla, 38, from Baneshwor, Kathmandu. They were held from different parts of the Kathmandu Valley, according to Pawan Kumar Bhattari, Spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

"On a tip off, the police squad mobilized from Swayambhu Police Circle seized CF 98-9 pistol, a magazine and 15 live bullets from them," Bhattarai added.
Among the arrested ones, Gurung was connected with looting, while Deula, Khan and Shakya in purchase and supply and Malla for the purchase. Further investigation is underway with a case filed under arms and ammunition crime. Those arrested will be detained for six days with the court’s order.
