It is now raining because of the combination of the westerly winds and the eastern monsoon process and it will continue for a few days, it said. The process before the monsoon is called a pre-monsoon process. The monsoon in Nepal runs between June 10 and September 23.[break]
The wind enters Nepal from the far west originating from the Mediterranean and passing through Pakistan and Himachal Pradesh of India. It has started blowing to central and eastern Nepal and is raining in most of the country´s hilly and Terai region.
Senior Meteorologist Keshavdas Shrestha of the Division said the rain with the wind will continue until Monday afternoon but will stay longer in Terai.
According to the Division, Okhaldhunga got a rainfall of 2 mm, Surkhet and Kathmandu 7 mm, Dang 18 mm, Pokhara 31 mm and Bhairahawa 45 mm, this morning.
Weather expected to improve only after a few days
