The alliance, which is comprised mostly of ruling parties, said that there is no point in handing over the government leadership to opposition party. [break]"The alliance´s first priority is to tranform the present government into a consensus coalition. Our second priority is to hand over the government leadership to any other leader from within the alliance," Alliance´s spokesman Prem Bahadur Singh told Republica.
He claimed that the alliance is of one voice on the decision.
According to him, Dahal briefed at the meeting about the recent formal as well as informal inter-party talks. "Though, negotiations have been held over various issues and alternatives on ending the political deadlock but we haven´t reached any conclusion," Singh quoted Dahal as saying at the meeting. "Confusions have been created as leaders have interpreted the talks´ outcomes in their own ways."
Also, the prime minister expressed his concern at the meeting over reports that he has posed ostruction to consensus among the parties by refusing to leave the office.
"I am continuing in my post as per the decision of the alliance. I have no different opinion but I am being projected as hindrance in the consensus process," Singh quoted the prime minister as saying at the meeting.
The leaders decided to hold next meeting of the Alliance on Saturday after holding intra-party discussions within their respective parties.
