And when it comes to loving food from the bottom of your tastebuds, one place you certainly should not miss is the Trance Sports Bar.[break]
In recent years, I feel so blessed that it’s no longer just pizzas, momos, spring rolls and chowmein that is offered by restaurants. It’s often pleasing to experiment with different varieties of cuisines from different geographies.
Trance Sports Bar, which is just a month old, is one such outlet in town where you will not be disappointed when it comes to getting an enjoyable experience of dining and wining.
Located centrally at Durbar Marg, almost opposite the Nepal Investment Bank, Trance is one more relief from those boring restaurants with awkwardly placed uncomfortable tables and chairs staring at the counter of the restro with a menu that can be read in just a minute.

When your priority is fine wining and dining, it’s not just about the food, the setting, hospitality and ambience equally matter to make your visit a memorable one. In that case, you truly deserve a “Trance” experience because three buddies – Resham Dangol, Manita Lamichhane, and Milan Bajracharya – have taken care of these essentials beautifully.
As I was heading to the restaurant, I was wondering how it would meet the cut-throat competition in restaurant business in recent times. Trance is located in the building that already has restaurants such as Tipsy Lounge, iClub, and Gulshan. I found it weird to have one more restaurant in the same building with three others.
However, all my wondering came to a halt when I entered Trance Sports Bar because it had its own unique features.
Neo-classic décor, sporty themed, colorful lights, catchy colors and comfortable lounges are the first major attractions of the restaurant. It’s interesting to see cricket pads, footballs and tennis rackets hanging on the walls, perhaps explaining the whole idea behind “Trance Sports Bar.” In the meantime, the setting of the couches fractioned into three places gives you ample space to decide on your table.
As the name suggests, the restaurant focuses mainly on its bar and has exotic cocktails, shooters, mocktails and other liquors from different corners of the world. Further, it houses a huge projector for all those diehard fans of cricket and football to ensure that they do not miss the best matches on a theater-size screen.
Coming to the food, you will definitely find it to be a little more expensive than most regular eateries. Considering the fact that Trance offers you a wonderful evening with your dear ones and because the restaurant is located at one of the toniest streets in the city, the prices can be compensated. Nonetheless, let me put it straight: for a proper dinner for two, with cocktails, you have to carry Rs 2,000 at the very least.
Make sure not to miss the Grilled Timbur Chicken, Pork Chop, Haasko Choyela, and Stuffed Chicken. A juicy grilled chicken breast served with timbur powder is certainly an innovative way of presenting the dish.
It’s not just garnishing the food that matters; what matters the most is the place it’s prepared. You can trust me on the hygiene. For people trying to go more experimental, a Prawn Cocktail is something you should vie for. The proper mixing of the spicy masalas makes this delicacy one of the most scrumptious items. As it’s chilly outside, do try the Lamb Ribs along with Cognac Brandy in a glass of hot water and one tablespoon of honey.
I should not forget to mention that those planning to experience Trance’s hospitality are entitled to special discounts throughout the month of January.
