MORANG, May 20: CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has warned of a political conflict in the country if the Constituent Assembly (CA) tenure was extended through two-third majority.

Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Friday, he said the CA term should be extended by forging consensus among the political parties representing the CA, not through two-third majority basis.[break]

It is not the time to form and topple the government but to think for taking the peace process to its logical conclusion and promulgate the new constitution, said UML leader Nepal. He said the current government could not deliver as expected and it has lost public´s confidence and it has made both UCPN-Maoist and UML supporters sad.

In another context, he said 5,000 People’s Liberation Army combatants should be integrated and accused Maoist leaders of bargaining to integrate more PLA combatants into Nepal Army terming Maoist leaders the ´skilled tricksters´. He said that parties should not only bargain but should be ready for consensus.
