Issuing a press release Tuesday, the association urged the joint trade union, which his spearheading the strike, to withdraw the agitation.[break]
The release appealed to the workers to consider the losses incurred by industries due to several problems such as 14-hour daily load shedding, deteriorating security condition and donation terror unleashed by armed groups.
Association´s Chairman Dinesh Golchha said the businessmen´s body is in favour of salary increment in lines with the price hike. For this, homework is underway in the central level, he said, urging the agitating workers to return to work.
Federation of Trade Union, Nepal Trade Union Congress (Independent), Koshi Chapter of Federation of Nepal Trade Union, Madheshi Trade Union and other unions launched the strike saying the authorities concerned did not heed their ultimatum regarding salary increment.
They said the workers have started a phase-wise protest since March 3 after the government and the concerned industries ignored their warning.
