Electricity royalty likely to get spent in other area

NUWAKOT (Trishuli), March 15: The political mechanism of District Development Committee (DDC) is set to spend 80 per cent of the electricity royalty accumulated in DDC against the directives of Energy Ministry Department.



The Department issued directive to mobilize the financial resources and royalty in the electricity sector alone. [break]



The political mechanism in the district has set a budget ceiling to spend the royalty of Rs. 30 million which has not been expended for the past one year.



Claiming that the decision by political mechanism will be implemented in local bodies, it has made a budget ceiling for spending against the Department´s directives to expend royalty sent to the DDC in electrification.



The mechanism is prepared to expend around 20 per cent for electricity generation and rest for other development works according to the ceiling prepared by mechanism, informed Local Development Officer (LDO) Damodar Bhandari.
