Spokesperson of the EC, Bir Bahadur Rai said that the EC decided to prevent any person from reporting as an election observer from their respective constituencies.[break]
Likewise, EC has amended Clause 16 of the ´Constituent Assembly Member Election Observation Directorate 2070´.
The EC has stated that the observer shall not be deployed to the constituency from where he/she is a voter. However, one could be the election observer in own constituency in case there is only constituency in the district.
In such particular case, the observers could monitor election in other VDCs of the constituency except their own.
