The Nepali Congress had submitted a memorandum to the EC drawing its attention towards the violation of election code of conduct in different media.
The EC has drawn the political parties/leaders´ attention to manage the media advertisement from within Rs 1 million.
Similarly, a complaint was lodged at the EC that the UCPN-Maoist breached the code during its Mechi-Mahakali campaign, and the National Sports Council violated the code by distributing sports materials in various districts.
The TV Filmy television was also charged of broadcasting news in favour of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal. The EC is to provide information in detail about the code violation on Sunday.
The election programme would be held as per the schedule at Constituency No 1 of Kapilvastu where a candidate from the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party died yesterday.
However, the EC would freeze the election symbol of the party in the ballot papers to be distributed in the constituency. Similarly, the EC has given the time till November 14 for the proportional candidates to withdraw their names from the closed list if they wanted to.
As per the provision, Prem Bahadur Chhetri of the Khas Samabesi Party withdrew his name from the closed list today, reasoning the party picked him without his consent.
The EC would publish the final closed list of the proportional election system on November 15.
