He said the voters can file for correction of mistakes in their personal details, if any, during previous voters´ registration campaign.
According to EC officials, they will not visit 189 VDCs and 72 municipal wards for verification of the electoral roll and registration of voters left out previously as the process was completed this fiscal year at those places.
The EC has completed registration of 10.2 million voters with their photographs and biometrics. Yadav said the constitutional body will prepare final name lists of voters by mid July.
Asked if there was low turn out in the new electoral roll in comparison to the participation at the time of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Yadav stated, “The condition is not disappointing as hundreds of thousands of voters have gone abroad while few hundreds of thousands have not registered their names due to lack of citizenship certificates.”
Altogether, 17.6 million voters were registered during the CA election in 2008.
Meanwhile, number of registered voters is decreased by fifty percent in Sindhupalchowk district in comparison to 2008.
According to the static made public by the district election office on Sunday, altogether 1.3 million voters have been registered so far while 2.6 million voters were registered during the CA election in the district.
