On the first day of the three-day shutdown of the Maoists, Chaudhary was attacked in a ´planned way´ during a scuffle at New Baneshwar. Chaudhary is being treated at Neuro Hospital for serious head injuries.
Chaudhary regained consciousness on Monday morning. According to hospital sources, he briefly talked to his family members in the afternoon. "He is regaining consciousness. He could speak a few words," said a medical staff.
Meanwhile, Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said Maoist CA member Yashoda Subedi, who was injured in the clash with the police on Sunday, has returned home after treatment. He said two other Maoist CA members injured in the incident are in normal condition.
