During the meeting, issues relating to Nepal-Bhutan relations, constitution promulgation through the Constituent Assembly (CA) in Nepal and Bhutanese refugees were discussed. The two discussed the ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations, it is said. Foreign Affairs Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey was also present at meeting.
On the occasion, DPM Singh thanked the Bhutanese Prime Minister for Bhutan's medical and financial support made during Nepal's deadly earthquake.
Saying that Nepal's constitution was promulgated from the two-thirds majority through the CA, DPM Singh told the Bhutanese leader that the political parties in Nepal would move ahead by joining hands together for constitution's implementation.
According to Singh, the Bhutanese PM welcomed the promulgation of the new constitution in Nepal.
It is said that discussions were held to end the problems of Bhutanese refugees in a friendly manner as it was in the interests of both the countries.
Likewise, DPM Singh lauded the achievements made by Bhutan in the hydropower sector.
During the meeting, Prime Minister's foreign affairs advisor Dr Dinesh Bhattarai, Acting Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shankar Das Bairagi, Nepal's Permanent Representative to the UN in New York Durga Prasad Bhattarai and other high-level officials from both the countries were present.
