DPM Shrestha also attended and addressed the 35th Annual Meeting of Foreign Ministers of G-77 and the 10th Meeting of the Land Locked Developing Countries while in New York.
He also attended and delivered a statement on several high-level events including Nuclear Safety and Security convened by the UN Secretary-General.
Shrestha also attended and delivered a statement at the high-level meeting on non-communicable diseases as well as participating in an interactive panel on ´addressing desertification, land degradation and drought in the context of sustainable development and poverty reduction’.
He also attended and addressed the high-level meeting to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the adoption of Durban Declaration and Program of Action.
He also met with his counterparts from various countries and discussed matters of bilateral and mutual interests.
Among them include the H.E. Mr. Marty M. Natalegawa, Foreign Minister of Indonesia; H.E. Mr. Janos Martony, Foreign Minister of Hungary; H.E. Mr. Ruslan Kazakbayev, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan; H.E. Mr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of UAE; H.E. Mr. Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla, Foreign Minister of Cuba; H.E. Mr. Yang Jeichi, Foreign Minister of China.
He also had a meeting with the European Commissioner for Climate Action H.E. Mrs. Connie Hedegaard.
He also joined the Prime Minister in almost all major events at the UN and bilateral meetings with Heads of State or Governments attending the UN General Assembly session.
