The ministry said this on the basis of a report submitted by independent experts´ team that carried out field study. [break]
Experts´ team, comprising representative of World Health Organization (WHO), had submitted its report to the ministry after conducting field study.
Issuing press statement on Tuesday, the ministry said that the death of infants might have happened due to some other reasons. The ministry concedes ´toxic shock syndrome´ was seen in the infants and such symptoms might have been due to contaminated vaccines.
However the ministry said that vaccines might have been contaminated at local level or due to errors of health workers. In the statement the ministry said that all the vile of used vaccines were disposed after its use.
The ministry express its commitment to implement the suggestion given by the independent team. The MoHP expressed condolence to the deceased children and asked the people to continue their participation in the vaccination drive as it was "100 percent safe".
