The Division has deployed 175 doctors including 125 foreigners in Ramechhap, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading and other badly affected districts stating that the communicable diseases could spread at any time.
The medical teams would work to aware the people against the possible outbreak of communicable diseases. Likewise, the teams would carry out necessary works for the health services in the quake-affected areas and coordinate with the central-level regarding the health condition of the locals and offer services as needed.
Executive Director at the Division Dr Baburam Marasini said that the health posts and hospitals in the quake-hit districts are fully damaged and service delivery from the same buildings is not likely.
He also said that there is outbreak of epidemic so far in the quake-hit districts and other adjoining areas but added that infection could take place due to lack of sanitation and change in weather.
Dr Marasini said that medicines and health workers from the unaffected districts could be mobilized and are kept in standby in case of outbreak. RSS
