Hari Rokaya, the accountant of the committee, confirmed that Bharat had attempted to molest the 16-year-old sportswoman. Thapa has been accused of tricking the girl to drink whisky mixed in soft drink in her room in Kirtipur on April 9 where she was resting due to illness.
Her relative Khem Adhikari said over the phone from Kathmandu that she had taken refuge in his house after fleeing from the room after Thapa tried to molest her in the room.
Rokaya added that the committee was against the lowly act of the chairman.

Thapa is also a close relative of the 16-year-old girl from Kuldevmandu VDC.
The victim also confirmed that Thapa had tried to molest her but she refused to provide details.
Thapa could not be contacted for comments.
