Dalits form panel to investigate Nepalis death

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: More than a dozen Dalit organizations have expressed serious concern over the prison death of Kumar Nepali and urged the government to investigate the mysterious death.



They have also formed an investigation committee to look into the case, which is led by ex-lawmaker Binod Pahadi. Issuing a press release on Sunday, they have demanded a high level investigation into the case, sought strong punishment for the perpetrators, and compensation for the victim´s family. [break]



They have also expressed dissatisfaction over the government negligence as four days have passed without any progress in the investigation.



Nepali was found dead with injuries on different parts of his body. The Dalit organizations have threatened to launch protests if governments continued to remain indifferent on the matter.
