KATHMANDU, April 3: President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen met with Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday at the Presidential Palace, according to a press release by Finnish Embassy in Kathmandu.
During their meeting, the leaders discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to Nepal´s transition from a monarchy to a republic, the preparation of the new constitution as well as issues concerning human rights and freedom of speech.
Prime Minister Dahal´s visit includes meetings with Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen. He will also visit Finnish companies and institutions.

Meanwhile, Avenues TV reported Friday that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and its Finnish Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for trade and industry.
