Dahal calls on Chinese President

BEIJING, April 18: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on Chinese President Xi Jinping at Great Hall of the People in Beijiing at around 4 pm local time. This is the first time a Nepali leader has met the Chinese president after he assumed the office in March.



The meeting that lasted for nearly 40 minutes was also attended by Nepali Ambassador to China Mahesh Maskey and a Nepali official of the embassy. [break]



Earlier on Wednesday, Dahal also met Chinese Vice-President Li Yuonchao.
