Through the event, the organizers aim to bring together responsible people from various walks of life – from painters, theater artists, and urban planners to architects – and provide them platforms for open dialogues regarding Kathmandu.[break]
In Patan, the event began on Sunday with the launch of a book published by IMAP which features essays by IMAP fellows and other scholars.
The launch was accompanied by musical performances by such bands as Maya and Albatross at the Patan Museum.
Today, in Kathmandu, the event will see the presentation of three art installations at the Basantpur Durbar Square from 9 AM to 7 PM, and will continue till March 22nd.
Starting from March 23, at the Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal, another event will feature theatre performances led by Sarbanam and Aarohan Gurukul theater troupes, documentary screenings, and art exhibitions.
The series will end on March 31.
A press release issued by the organization mentions that IMAP is aimed at digitizing art and theatre.
It is supported by the Ford Foundation and situated at the Social Science Baha in Patan Dhoka.
Since its launch in 2009, IMAP has been successful in collecting information about more than 160 institutions and artists.
