'Corrupt' head teacher returns embezzled money

SAPTARI, July 21: The District Administration Office Saptari has forced headmaster of Bhagawati Rastriya Primary School at Bhagawatpur VDC to pay a surety of Rs. 1.5 million on Friday deciding that he had embezzled amount that had come for construction of the school building.



Headmaster of the school Nageswor Mandal was forced to pay the amount on the basis of investigation on irregularities. [break]



He was made to pay the amount, the double of what he had embezzled or Rs. 750, 000 allocated for the school building and toilet construction, said District Administration Office Officer Bishnuranjan Baral. Mandal has put 11 katthas of land as surety.



Earlier, headmaster of Rastriya Primary School of Trikaul VDC -9 Amodi Lal Mandal had been sent to jail for embezzlement and was freed after paying Rs. 329, 600 after three days.
