Cops suspended after inmate sneaks away

POKHARA, Dec 21: Two police personnel have been suspended after an inmate sneaked away from Ward Police Office, Bagar in Pokhara. An Indian national Bindu Harijan (45) who was arrested for jewelry theft duped police personnel in sentry and escaped after taking bath.



Senior police constables Bel Prasad Sharma and Gita Subedi have been suspended. [break]



“The sentry police were duped as women and children in custody are not handcuffed. Also, the primary investigations have not been able to establish any foul play by police personnel,” Rabindra Paudel, spokesperson of District Police Office said.
